WARREN C. SHAY, ESQ. (1949-2022)
Warren C. Shay graduated from Boston University School of Law in 1974 and practiced law in Skowhegan from September of 1974 until his passing in February of 2022. He was a Selectman in Skowhegan from 1982 to 1994 and served as Chairman of the Board from 1984 to 1994. He served on the Draft Board of the Selective Service System from 1982 to 2007, the Board of Trustees of Skowhegan Savings Bank, was Director of Lake George Regional Park, and a Trustee of Bloomfield Academy, which owns and operates the Skowhegan Free Public Library. Warren also served on the Board of Governors of the Maine State Bar Association representing both Somerset and Piscataquis Counties.
Mr. Shay represented Towns and Counties on governmental issues and many businesses and institutions on corporate, financial and real estate matters. He thoroughly enjoyed representing clients in boundary disputes and road disputes, timber trespass claims, title searches, partition actions and issues concerning docks, beaches, common areas and rights of way. He proudly represented a number of non-profit road and landowner’s associations. Mr. Shay also handled probate and estate planning matters regularly. His infectious smile and sense of humor is greatly missed by all who knew and had the pleasure to work and learn from him.
